A determined Sask rugby team took to the field in the quarter-final against Newfoundland. Sask took an early lead on a penalty kick by Tait Nystuen (3-0). NL quickly responded with a try and conversion (3-7). Back and forth play with excellent plays on each side dominated the first half. NL closes the half with a try and convert. Half time result Sask 3 NL 14. Sask opens the second half with another Nystuen penalty kick (6-14). Sask puts on a charge lead by captatin Patrick Young. Tanner Danylczuk scores the try converted by Nystuen . Sask 13 NL 14.  A proud and talented Saskatchewan side gave all they had to push for the lead. A very close call on thae sideline on a great Sask team run nullified a breakaway for the try, turning the ball over to NL. A late penalty kick followed by a successful try with a Sask player in the sin bin made the final NL 24 Sask 13. Saskatchewan will play five more games in the consolation round-robin . Thursday games @ 10.00 and 6:00.
