open water swimmers

The Open water swimming competition will be held in the Southwest River which is fed by the ocean and therefore affected by the tides. Since PEI doesn’t have any fresh water lakes or rivers the PEI host committee did a ton of research to find the best location for this competition. The Southwest River was chosen for the race site because it is the body of water that is the least affected by the tides in the entire province. Even though Team Sask athletes will be competing in uncharted waters we are confident they that will still light it up out there.
